Supported Accommodation

Our Supported Accommodation is available to our Health colleagues who have identified the need for this to be a key stage for their patients in returning to live in the community. Not only will this ease the pressures on the Health Board, but more importantly will be a stepping stone for patients to resume their best lives living independently.

Cardiff Mind has previously had a strong relationship with Cardiff Council in delivering similar services and it is this strong track record together with our reputation in providing services to the citizens of Cardiff that has brought about this exciting service development.

This initiative is a perfect example of the way in which Health, the Local Authority and the Third Sector can work collaboratively to improve lives of people who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Aims

The aim of the service is to encourage people who have long term mental health problems to develop the social and general living skills which will enable them to live successfully in the community.

Support

We will meet with tenants regularly to discuss issues and to help them work towards greater independence.

Plans and assessments will be reviewed on a regular basis with the tenant.

Move on

We will assist in obtaining move-on accommodation once it has been identified that the tenant is ready to move on.

Complaints

We work extremely hard to provide the best possible service but occasionally we get things wrong. To make a complaint, contact us.
