How would you describe your approach to counselling?
I am an integrative counsellor with a strong foundation in person-centred therapy. I offer a safe, warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. I believe that each person is unique and so I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities, helping you to navigate life’s challenges to encourage self-acceptance, self-confidence and emotional wellbeing and helping you to develop healthier coping strategies if needed.
What do you think are the most important factors in the counselling relationship?
My aim is to build a trusting and collaborative relationship with you, where you feel truly heard and understood. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties or just feeling stuck. I am here to support you in finding your own way forward. Together we can work to increase self-awareness, build resilience and help you reconnect with your strengths and inner resources.
Do you have any special interests or client groups that you work a lot with?
I have worked with clients who struggle with self-esteem, self-worth, anxiety, depression and grief.
What do you enjoy most about your work as a counsellor?
Counselling can be the first step towards making positive changes in your life and to make the changes to be living the life you want to live. It is a privilege as a counsellor to be on the journey with you and to see the positive changes happening in your life and to see you explore, grow and heal and to start feeling happiness and at peace with yourself and reaching for things that you thought may never be possible.
Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I came to counselling later in life after following a personal and professional journey rooted in healing and self-discovery. I practice in other healing modalities such as Reiki and Reflexology which has deepened my understanding of how our emotional and physical wellbeing are deeply connected.
